Centrifuge should avoid frequent switching on and off
2024-01-22
Centrifugal compressor is a kind of compressor widely used in industrial field, which compresses gas by centrifugal force. However, compared with other types of compressors, centrifugal compressors have some special restrictions in frequent startup and shutdown.
First of all, because the rotor and impeller of centrifugal compressor need to rotate at high speed to generate enough centrifugal force to compress gas, the start-up process takes some time. When starting, the compressor needs to gradually increase the speed to ensure that all components can reach the normal working state. Frequent switching will increase the time and energy consumption of the startup process.

Secondly, the design and operation requirements of centrifugal compressor are relatively strict, and it needs to run normally under certain working conditions. If the working conditions of the compressor change, such as sudden changes in pressure, temperature or gas flow, the performance of the compressor may decline or even malfunction. Frequent startup and shutdown may make the compressor unable to adapt to the changing working conditions, thus affecting its normal operation.
In addition, the compressor needs to consume a lot of energy during start-up and shutdown, especially during start-up, because of the need to overcome inertia and friction, the energy consumption is more significant. Frequent switching will lead to waste of energy, increase the operating cost, cause unnecessary burden on the environment, accelerate mechanical wear and reduce the life and reliability of equipment.
Therefore, in order to ensure the normal operation of the centrifugal compressor and prolong the service life of the equipment, we should try to avoid frequent switching on and off. In practical application, the frequency of on-off can be reduced by reasonably adjusting and controlling parameters such as gas flow, pressure and temperature, and adopting appropriate start-stop strategy. In addition, regular maintenance to ensure the normal operation of the equipment is also an important measure to extend the life of centrifugal compressor.
Through reasonable management and maintenance, we can maximize the efficiency and reliability of centrifugal compressor and realize more stable and economical operation.
